Campo Grande, Brazil, 20 February 2025 – QIMA, a global leader in inspection and certification services serving over 30,000 clients in 100 countries, announces the acquisition of Recaldes Traceability, a premium specialist in cattle traceability in Brazil. The acquisition significantly strengthens QIMA's position in the growing agricultural sector of Latin America and enhances its comprehensive solutions for the food supply chain.
Recaldes Traceability, an accredited SISBOV (Brazilian System of Individual Identification of Cattle and Buffalo) and IDBOV (Individual Identification of Cattle) certifier, will maintain its independent operations in Campo Grande. This strategic location in Mato Grosso do Sul, one of Brazil's leading cattle-producing states, positions QIMA to better serve the region’s growing sustainable livestock industry.
"This acquisition combines QIMA’s global network with Recaldes’ deep expertise in Brazilian cattle traceability, creating a powerful solution for producers targeting more demanding markets, particularly the European Union," says Mario Berard, CEO of Food Certification at QIMA. "Our enhanced capabilities now offer comprehensive traceability solutions from farm to table that meet the most stringent international standards."
The partnership specifically strengthens three key market areas:
Complete supply chain visibility through integrated digital traceability solutions. Enhancing our relationship with sustainability protocols in the Pantanal region. Expanded services for accessing international markets, particularly to ensure compliance with the EU. Recaldes Traceability’s proven track record in the Brazilian market, combined with QIMA's global presence and digital solutions, creates a robust platform to advance sustainable livestock practices while meeting growing international demand for transparent and traceable protein sources. This integration strengthens QIMA’s ability to provide comprehensive quality assurance services throughout the agricultural value chain, from field operations to final export compliance.
The acquisition also reinforces QIMA's commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Latin America, ensuring compliance with evolving international food safety and traceability requirements. This expansion will allow Brazilian producers to access premium global markets more effectively while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
