The GLOBALG.A.P. certificate was developed to assure producers, suppliers, and buyers that food production at the farm and facility level meet internationally recognized best practices. GLOBALG.A.P. works to support farmers by connecting them to markets where they can sell their safely and sustainably agricultural products by developing and implementing farm assurance systems based on facts and recognized across the supply chain.

Advantages of GLOBALG.A.P. Certification

  1. Add value to your products by complying with an internationally recognized benchmark.
  2. Gain access to new global customers, markets, suppliers, and retailers.
  3. National Interpretation Guidelines issued by GLOBALG.A.P. summarize the state of food safety legislation, environmental protection, and workers’ health and safety. GLOBALG.A.P. certified operations are required to adhere to applicable legislation when it is stricter than the GLOBALG.A.P. standard. 5. Obtain a GLOBALG.A.P. (GGN) number for easy identification and traceability at a B2B level.

To obtain certification, producers must comply with all applicable control points and compliance criteria (CPCC) relevant to their sub-scope. For example, a strawberry producer must comply with the CPCC for the “All Farm module, the “Crops Base” module, and the Fruit and Vegetable” module to receive a GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Fruit & Vegetables.

In order to help producers better prepare and make the necessary changes before a certification body auditor performs an audit or inspection, GLOBALG.A.P. provides checklists for each module.

GLOBALG.A.P. provides two certification options:

Option 1: a single producer with or without a quality management system.

Option 2: groups of producers operating a quality management system.
